From Taxi Rank to Terminal, for City of Cape Town

It’s hard to ignore a London taxi in the centre of London.

A London cab is often the connecting thread for a well-deserved holiday. For tourism operators like City of Cape Town and their recent Choose Cape Town campaign, iconic London black cabs amplified an exciting new connection between Cape Town and London Gatwick, facilitated by Norse Atlantic Airways.

This campaign ran from the 1st of November to the 28th November and involved 40 electric supersides roaming across London. It’s hard to find just one highlight from this campaign, however the functional yet attractive creative is a standout. It simultaneously showcased Cape Town’s rugged landscape while allowing space for a QR code that let Londoners access the This is Cape Town website with ease. Taxis are an asset for tourism operators thanks to their reach across the London high street and the relationships they encourage with an adventurous audience who believe you can only ever get to know a country by experiencing its culture (Index 100+, YouGov GB Profiles, 2024).
